BR 2-11: The Giant Jelly Bean Jar

A happy new year,everyone. I could spend great days in last year!! And I want to do hard as much as last year.

I read a book yesterday. The book's title was The Giant Jelly Bean Jar. The pictures were very cute, and I wanted to watch it many times. The story was about Ben who loved jelly beans. It were sold in the Jo-Jo's jelly bean shop. Jo-Jo had a contest in every weekend. And he read a riddle. The person with the right answer won a jar full of jelly beans. Every Saturday, Ben went to Jo-Jo's shop with his sister, Jill. Ben always knew the answer to Jo-Jo's riddles. But he never won the jelly beans. Jill said him that you are too shy in every week. And she told him to raise his hand high and speak up.

Jo-Jo's shop has a lot of jars full of jelly beans. There were apple jelly beans, bubble gum jelly beans, and grape jam jelly beans. And there were even popcorn jelly beans! The day, Jo-Jo had a question. He said "I'm a long, yellow fruit with skin you peel back. I'm tasty with breakfast and I make a great snack." Then kids waved their hands in the air. But Ben was very nervous, so he lowered his hand. Jo-Jo looked at the children, and he pointed to Jill. She answered "Banana." He could not answer again. He wanted to answer the jelly bean riddle himself.

The next Saturday, they went to his shop and tried to answer. But another boy won the jelly beans. He knew the answer, so he was shocked.

The next Saturday, they went to his shop again. But this week was different. It was special, because Jo-Jo's Jelly Bean Shop had been open for one year. Jo-Jo was having a big party. The store was more crowded than ever. Jo-Jo raised a very , very big jar of jelly beans over his head. Then everyone cheered. And Ben listened carefully to Jo-Jo's riddle. He knew the answer right away. This time, he lifted his hand high. Jo-Jo looked out at the big crowd. And he pointed to Ben. At last, he could answer. Jill asked him " How does it feel to be the Grand Prize Jelly Bean King?" Ben said her "Great!!"

This book was very interesting. Ben's sister was very kind. If there was not his sister, he was not able to won the prize. I want to read it again!!

BR 2-10: I Am a Star

I read a book now. The book was kind for me, because the book's level was 1. I often read some more difficult books, so I could read it soon. The book's story was about star. I am interested in star. When I found it, I decided to borrow the book soon.

It was a book that became feeling of the star. The star was Polaris. Polaris is the North Star. All stars move for a few months, but the star alone doesn't move. It stays in the North. So sailors use it find their way.

We can't see stars in the daytime, because there is too much light. And we can't see it on a cloudy night, because it hides behind cloud. We can see stars on a clear night. Long ago, people saw pictures in stars, and they are called it constellations. Some people saw bears, and other people saw dippers. Now there are 12 constellations.

To see stars better, you need a telescope. The study of stars is called astronomer. When I was child, I wanted to be it. I like watching stars, so I wanted to use a big telescope.

There are a lot of stars. We make the star from various materials. Some flags have stars. We sing a song about the star. And we wish upon the star.

When I read this book, I found that there are many stars near our lives. And I learned about Polaris. When I lose my way, I want to watch it. And I can know where the North is. I have become to like star more since I read it.

BR 2-09: Young Cam Jansen

I read a book today. The book's title was Young Cam Jansen and the Library Mystery. I have read the book's series before. The book was interesting, so I wanted read it again. Cam who has a great memory appeared in the book. And her father and Eric also appeared in it.

One day, they went to the library. Cam borrowed a book which was a dinosaur mystery. And Eric borrowed a book which was about a boy who got into lots of trouble. Her father was reading a book. Cam and Eric readied, so her father put in a bookmark and closed the book. They got to the supermarket after their books were checked out. She took a shopping cart, and she followed them. There were magazines and books for sale just inside the supermarket. As they walked into the store she asked her father, "What are we buying?" Her father reached into his shirt pocket. Then he shook his head and said, "I don't know what we need to buy. I lost the shopping list."

Eric thought maybe Cam remembered what it was on the list. But she never looked at it. Her father remembered that putting it in his shirt pocket and there was a lot more on the list. Her father checked his pockets again. He took out some coins, keys, and his wallet. And he looked in his wallet, but he did not find the list. Her father thought that maybe it fell out of his pocket. Then a worker was sweeping the front of the sore. Eric ran to him, and "Did you find a long piece of paper?" he asked. He answered " I just sweep everything into that corner. You must be over there." And Eric found the shopping list. He took the paper off the floor. But her father realized it was not ours list. It was thrown out by someone.

Her father thought maybe I dropped in the library. And he walked toward the exit, so they followed him. Cam looked at the books. Lots of them were mysteries. Then she found where the list was. "I'm looking at a picture of a small piece of the shopping list. I'm looking at it right now." she said. They left the supermarket, and arrived at their car. She said "The mystery you borrowed is on the front seat. Open it and you'll find the shopping list." And the shopping list was there as her saying. So he must have used it as a bookmark. After that, they walked toward the store again.

I thought this book is such as demystification. I like Cam solves the problem. She has really great memory. I always want to read this book again after this book's series. I want the memory like her, so I can enjoy more.

BR 2-08: TALES OF OLIVER PIG

I read a book yesterday. The book's title was TALES OF OLIVER PIG. The book has five stories. I want to explain all stories, but I would like to explain my favorite stories. It were two stories. One is a baking day, and the other is a IS IT OLIVER.

First, it is a baking day. The story's characters were Oliver, his mother and his sister. They are pig. His sister's name was Amanda. They are very cute. The story was about rainy day.

The day was not a day for outside, because it was cold and wet. Then his mother told Oliver to come to the kitchen. And she said that today is a baking day. He asked her mother what we would bake. Her mother was going to make cookies with raisins. He was happy, because he liked cookies with a lot of raisins. So he readied its materials. First, he mixed some butter and sugar. And he stirred up an egg and the oats. After that she put a cup of flour and some baking powder. He stirred it again. Finally, Oliver put in a sprinkle of nutmeg and a sprinkle of cloves and two sprinkles of cinnamon. Then he realized that there was not raisin. He asked her about it. She had already prepared it. And she said "these were for the cookies. " Mother put them in the pan. They listened to the rain outside while the cookies bake. After a while, they smelled the smell of baking cookies. They ate it, and they felt happy. I thought the cookies were delicious, because they are it with their family. When I was child, I often cooked sweets with my mother. I want to cook cookies again.

It is about IS IT OLIVER. Oliver and his father appeared in this story. When Oliver was in bed, he asked his father to find him. His father came in his room, and he looked in the toy box, in the closet and under the bed. He said "I can't find Oliver anywhere." Then he looked in the bed. He found only his ears sticking out. But his father did not say that it was Oliver's ears. The father said "it was elephant ears or a caterpillar or a cucumber or a stream shovel. " Oliver answered "No." At last, father said gave up. Then he said "it 's your Oliver!"

The father gave him a hug and tucked him in tight. And they said each other good night. I thought his father was kind and warm. It was great to his father pretended to not know. I thought family was good.

Today!!

Hello. It is early that time passed. Now is December. I cannot believe. This year will ends a little more. And Christmas will come soon. I will spend with my friends, so I'm looking forward to come the day!!

Today, I went to post office, because I will work there from December 25 to January 5. What job I work there? So I will sort the New Year's card there. The salary is cheap, but I want money. Therefore I will work there with my friends. Today was the briefing. I got up at 7:00 a.m., and I left my home at 8:30 a.m. Then it was not rain, so I did not bring my umbrella. I went there by bus. The post office is in sinmachi. I got off at the traffic center, and I walked the post office. When I got off the bus, it was rain out. I regretted, because I did not have an umbrella. So I went to convenience store to buy an umbrella. After that, I went to the post office. When I into the hall, there were many people. And there were a lot of high school students. They were all priest, so I thought that they belong to a baseball club. We received the explanation there for two hours. I watched video and read some prints and heard the explanation. Say to the truth, I was sleepy. But it entered the salary during that time, so I had to be seriousness. After the briefing finished, I came back my home soon. I arrived at my home at 1:00 a.m.

I did not have a plan today, so I watched TV. Then my mother asked me to go shopping. I was happy when I heard that. Of course, I said "Yes." I went to Yumikuro with my mother and brother. There were many clothes, so I hesitated which clothes I should buy. Finally, I bought a muffler, a shirt, a sweater and a heatech. My favorite clothe was a heatech!! I wanted to buy it before. I heard that if I wear the haetech, I am not cold. So I can spend it by warming in the winter of this year. My brother bought a cardigan and my mother bought a swetaer and a sweat shirt. They also looked happy. Today is a good shopping day. Yunikuro is very cheap and casual, so I want to go there again.

After that, I went to supermarket to buy some materials for dinner. Today's dinner was chicken!! It was my request. I wanted to eat that. I helped super making. The chicken was delicious, because I helped it cooking. Today was very interesting for me.

I will go to bath, and I want to sleep.

Essay 2-03a: My language learning story

I study English now, and I want to study English in the future, too. When I became a university student, my subjects are almost about English language. To study English is fresh for me, and I can know much knowledge of foreign countries and foreigner's idea. Therefore I like English and I am interested in English. So I would like to write about my language learning story. I want to write about past, present and future.

First, they are about future. I will take the examination of TOIEC during the university life, so the score will be over 600. The score is as same as the second English certificate class. I have heard that taking the examination of TOIEC is useful for job hunting before. So I want to study hard and get a good score. If I have the good score, I can have a confidence and it helps me to job hunting. When I become a member of society, I want to travel abroad with my friends. I will visit a lot of countries, and I want to touch the culture in various countries. Therefore I should be able to speak English, so I don't have to stop the study of English. When I am in foreign country, I am not trouble and I want to speak in English with a local person.

Second, I will tell about my past. When I was in kindergarten, I often watch an education television. There was an English program in that. It was the first time for me to speak English. When I was in junior high school, I didn't like English, because I didn't study English. So my English test was very bad. I became to like English, because of entrance exam for high school. If I did not study hard, I fail into the high school which I wanted to go. Then I studied English hard, so I could understand English little by little. When I was in high school, I also studied English hard. So I like English better than other subjects. In especially, I like reading English, so I often read an English book. When I was third grade of high-school, I decided to a college which is able to learn English soon. Because I wanted to study English more.

Finally, there are about present. When I enter the K.G.U., the almost subjects related to English, so I was surprised. I really thought I was able to study English. There are some foreign teachers in K.G.U. They teach us English, and there is little Japanese in the classes. So we need some listening and speaking ability. I have never spoken foreigner before, so I am sometimes puzzled and I think that I have to study English more. But I think it is a good chance to study English. When I entered K.G.U., I learned the second foreign language. It was French. It was interesting for me. I learned the grammar, the figures, and words and so on. And I realized that there are a lot of French in my surroundings. If I did not study French, I have never realized that. So learning the language expands our outlook on the world.

I want to polish my English skill. In the future, I will be able to speak in English with foreigner. And I want to go travel abroad. In the past, I did not like English. But I studied English hard, so I knew the English interest. In the present, I learned French and I realized that language make me expand outlook on the world. I want to study more, and I want to enhance my university life.
